The academic post-modern view that everyone except white men are oppressed makes commerce unworkable. You can’t manage a department with diverse employees who hold the view that they are judged on any basis other than merit.
The core principle of modern commerce is meritocracy. Meritocracy is the understanding that each person is judged and rewarded on the basis of individual performance. That is why we can have a diverse society. I buy from an Arab grocery because the grocer runs an honest shop with products that are sold as they appear and a guarantee of quality stands behind them. Not because of any other quality of the seller like family connection or tribal attributes.
I can’t imagine managing a group of people or expecting them to work together if they think that men are oppressing them because they are women or because others are not white or not born in America. Such irrational assumptions of bias make cooperation impossible. Working together, cooperating with suppliers and customers requires mutual respect and the assumption of judgments based solely on behavior and merit.
The academic post-modern view that everyone except white men are oppressed will inherently destroy modern commerce and the modern commercial world the more broadly it is accepted and truly believed.
