A member of my family has a mild color blindness. For his birthday he got a pair of glasses from EnChroma that allows him to see the entire spectrum. A modern miracle of technology.
About 6% of males have this mild color blindness. Of these, 4 out of 5 can see the full color spectrum with the EnChroma glasses.
The description of how the glasses work is not adequate for me. The explanation given online is that the glasses block a few very narrow frequencies which ordinarily flood the ocular cones with too much of that frequency and over stimulate that part of the cone reception. The over stimulation blocks the cones recognition of that part of the color spectrum
I will find out how they work when I meet the right person. In the meantime, if you are that one out of 16 males who can’t see some colors, get some Enchroma glasses.
Enjoy the miracle.
