I don't assume that things that I do in my life reflect any American universals. But they do reflect an occasional trend or pattern.
I ordered the recent Krauthammer book from Amazon in the material version.
This is a change for me. I usually buy the e-book version put it on my iPad and read it on long airplane flights.
This is a change for me, maybe one reson why material books still sell.
What changed my mind is that I know that the Krauthammer book is so good I will want to lend it to my friends. I do this with all good books. And of course I lose a few in the process. Actually I lose many.
To me it is always important when I find a good book to be able to pass it along to friends. The e-book version makes that difficult.
I have published a dozen books, myself, in the e-book format and I know that people are buying them.
I simply wanted to note that I have used a self observation of my need to buy a material book that I know is going to be good in order to pass it on to friends.
I hear that Amazon and others will sell you an e-book and add a material book for a discounted price. That sounds good to me, I just haven't seen it in effect.
