I regularly hear discussions about the revival of Detroit. I see Democrat politicians everywhere urging more money from the state of Michigan and from the federal coffers to revitalize Detroit. Even in the foundation world there is pressure to make grants to Detroit.
Is there any chance that Detroit could be revived?
I see two problems with the revival of Detroit. The first one concerns who is left in Detroit to promote the revival and attract new business.
The answer is: nobody. Everyone with talent left years ago when the obvious failure of the city was on the horizon. That left only two groups.
* Union members who were so unable to ever get a high paying job or even another job that they became welfare rats.
* The second group are blacks who have a great resistance to leaving their homes, regardless of the economic conditions. Also welfare rats.
Out of work union members and desolatory blacks cannot attract businesses that are looking for workers. And they certainly cannot create new businesses that provide the bulk of all new employment.
There is an additional problem. Detroit (metropolitan area) has more than a quarter of its population that is now Islamic Arabs. As this population grows steadily, because immigrants always go to cities that are already populated by their families, Detroit will become even less appealing to anyone else.
Detroit has no future except for Arabs. Only Lefties can be so blind about commerce that they would think otherwise.
