I try to avoid politics in these blogs but I notice a significant omission in the political discussions in my country that I believe should be highlighted.
The current Obama presidency resembles, in its last 2 1/2 years, the final one and half years of the Woodrow Wilson presidency. This parallel should not be ignored.
President Obama throughout his administration has been evidently innumerate (making management impossible), arrogant beyond any level of reasonableness, mean-spirited and vicious in his treatment of his opponents and anyone whose policies he disagrees with; and he has evidently done everything possible to avoid accepting the responsibilities of his office such as refusing intelligence briefings and blaming all the problems of 5½ years on his predecessor. He has appointed close friends and political hacks to important inner circle positions including intelligence reporting. Some of this may have caused his current condition.
Everything points to the fact that president Obama has had a mental breakdown within the last few months. He does not appear competent to carry out his office. One recent book reports that his main advisors are Valerie Jarrett and his wife who talk to him after daily decisions have been made and get him to change those policy decisions the following day.
It should be noted that president Woodrow Wilson had a stroke 17 months before his term was up and his wife took over the job of president. She and her close aides kept this secret.
We now have the 25th amendment which allows for a combination of the vice president and members of the cabinet and congressional leaders to agree upon a situation in which the president is incompetent and to place him on leave.
That time has come. Exercise Section 4 of the 25th amendment.
