I don’t know why this is significant for my blog about commerce.
I know two women in their late 50s early 60s who had never been married but did get married.
I find this unusual.
In one case it was a San Francisco neighbor and friend. She left her work as a postal delivery person to become an accountant. After many years of working as an accountant she retired in her late 50s. She met a man in her volunteer work via a telephone client who turned out to be a perfect husband. They were married within six months. He moved from Oregon to a new household they selected in the North Bay of San Francisco.
The second case is a Japanese woman with whom I worked as a translator and editor. To my complete surprise she found and married a high school classmate, recently. She and the classmate had seen each other about twice a year at the reunion of their high school volleyball team. Neither had left the area they had grown up in... nor married.
In both cases, the men and women had remained unmarried until very late and were professionals.
They are also very close in age. I find this unusual and so different from mainstream storylines that I mention it here.
Have you had any similar experiences.
