Even with the blue screen of death I was able to restart the computer and backdate it.
What backdating means is that you can select an earlier date, in my case a week earlier, and set the computer to begin at that point. All new programming languages that were added after that earlier date are deleted. This gets rid of any viruses that were installed. The backdating does not have any effect on text you have written.
I wish other institutions and objects had this extraordinary capability. We would happily apply it to human relations after an argument. It would be wonderful if it applied to automobiles that have recently broken down.
The fact that I can actually backdate my computer is a fascinating and powerful metaphor.
