I’m sure that many of my readers consider my confidence to be arrogance. It must be hard for someone who has not spent as much time as I have dealing with businesses and government agencies to understand how an outsider can claim to know how an agency acts or views the world.
I have, for decades, bemoaned the absolute blindness of the State Department in the middle east. When Condi Rice took over the State Department I could see that she was a tool of the State Department in trying to get president Bush to force an Israel-Palestine settlement. I had no inside information.
I have known for decades that the State Department believes that the biggest problem in the middle east is the Palestinian issue. This is pure nonsense. Pure. All the evidence since the early 90's suggests that the Palestinians have never had an interest in settling the issue. Moreover, no Arab country, Persian country or friend of Osama has actually cared one iota for the Palestinians. The Palestinians are widely hated. Their relation to Israel is nothing more than an excuse for all Arabs and Persians to justify their ignorance, incompetence, and tyrannical governments.
