I saw the Dinesh D'Souza movie last night: 2016. It is a wonderful and effective movie. See it, for sure. He makes the same point in the movie that he made in his book, that Barack Obama's vision of the world is anti-American based on his upbringing in a communist anti-imperialist intellectual swamp. Obama spent 30 years in that swamp, much of the time stoned.
How much do I think this has influenced his presidency?
That goes to my view of history. From my own personal experience, history is a mixture of trend and fortuitousness. There are times when my contribution to history has been unique to my own vision. There are other times when I simply atepped in front of the parade.
I explained in the blog two days ago that Obama has all of the shortcomings of a male American black. He was raised as such a person and he had direct experience with many other black people in shaping his attitudes.
I would have to agree with D'Souza that he has a worldview that is strongly anti-American and he blames America for imperialism. His goal is to diminish America.
However because of his black upbringing he lacks the skills to execute his vision. He is, to put it simply, incompetent. He has no administrative or leadership background. He can't do anything but argue and that seldom has an influence on government agencies.
Obama was elected because the stock market crash wiped out 40%of many American's net worth and pensions. And he appealed to American anti-racist guilt because he was non-threatening and spoke good English.
