The very last sentence of Exodus has the following quote after Joshua defeated the Amalekites in battle: “write this as a memorial in the book.... the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
It really doesn't matter the level of authority you give to the words in the Torah. These words are very strong. They are the Lord telling Jews that they must remember the endless nature of an historic battle.
The endless nature of this phenomenon so closely resembles the perpetual nature of Jew hate that it is hard to ignore.
This quote has been debated by Jews for 2000 years. There is no satisfactory alternate conclusion. Jew hate is there perpetually.
I simply want to bring it to your attention. I consider it a physical tumor in the brain of the haters.
The idea that any people would have a permanent historic enemy is interesting in itself. It suggests a mechanism for improving the survival ability of that people.
It is also worth considering that America has always had its enemies as well. This may be a source of American strength.
