The current European financial trouble is trivial and of no long-term significance.
That may be a nasty or shortsighted statement. I stand by it.
Europe has not had a future for a long time, because there is little vitality, horrific demographics and a socialist political overhang with no escape.
Still that is not enough to project the dire hopeless future of Europe that I see.
The hopelessness comes from the fact that the environmental perspective of the Europeans is based on their deep seated belief in an ecological Armageddon. This global warming Armageddon leads the Europeans to build a fantasy world of green energy, carbon capping and a conscious choice to leave natural gas in the ground.
No society will be able to compete in the world market, even one decade from now, when it is saddled with high energy costs. Europe is putting on lead boots and deliberately destroying its business future.
Need I say anymore about the grim prospects I see.
We should also be thankful that our environmentalists in the US are such a weak and ineffective force.
