In Japan, you can buy complex mechanical foot massagers, back massagers of every kind, and many ingenious exercise tools for stimulation and stretching. None of these are available in the United States.
One of my favorite American exercise devices was a pseudo-boot that allowed me to hang upside down and stretch as well as do stomach crunches. It was a simple device that fit on my ankles and had no moving parts.
The manufacturer was sued about six months after the product came on the market. The product was taken off the market immediately, simply because the cost of a lawsuit would have been astronomic for the manufacturer. Nobody could be hurt by the device except by their own stupid misuse of it.
Because American lawsuits are so easy to bring and so expensive to defend, only the largest corporations can introduce new health and exercise related products and even then they make sure that the most aggressive idiot cannot hurt themselves.
