I make notes on my phone about future blogs. This title was just such a note. I planned to write on the subject after I saw the consequences of the Occupy Wall Street global expansion.
It turns out that the summertime venom against commerce that has been pouring out of President Obama's mouth took form only among the tiny number of rabble-rousers in America. It spread globally for a few weeks but promptly evaporated.
It is now time for all of us to celebrate. The world must have learned from the 20th century that commerce is the wave of prosperity and the only future.
We may be stuck with an anti-commerce venom spewing president but we now know that the world is not anti-commerce. The flag of commercial hate was not raised around the world.

As a footnote it is also worth observing that the focus on Wall Street, the very wealthy and Jew hate did not resonate anywhere else. The cluster of these three, a Jeffersonian montage, is very American. For the first time I can say, fortunately.
