Roughly a year ago I wrote a blog summarizing why all cities are Democrat.
Now I have an addendum.
The angry population that emerges from the teen years are attracted to cities because they find sympathetic peers. Importantly, they find anger among others that matches their distress with the world.
As a group, they don’t like the way people dress, the way people live in their homes, the way people eat, the way people convene and much more.
With low retail rental space in poor neighborhoods, they get to create their own vision of boutiques, home furnishings, unique restaurants and coffee shops.
Anger becomes commercial vitality.
The angriest neighborhoods in San Francisco are among the most vital and innovative.
