I'm sad to say, I was right two years ago when I called Intuit, home of Quicken, a corrupt and dishonest company.
I got a notice via email that Quicken has an online backup storage system. Sounded good to me, as I currently use a USB stick with the past four years stored on it.... to take to the IRS office if they ever call me.
Then I went to the website and looked for the price. It is not there. You have to find the right click-through to find the price. Now right off the bat that is the act of a sleazy company. An accounting firm that hides the prices from you. They may be the perfect firm for Enron, MCI or Bernie Madoff but not for me.
When I found the price, $9.99 per year I was flat out insulted. An accounting firm that thinks a one thousandth percent discount from $10.00 will confuse or motivate a human being that needs a bookkeeping service.... has to be the employment home of idiots.
So far Google doesn't have a cloud accounting system. Even a simple one for personal checking and credit card accounting would put Quicken out of business in less than a year. A simple one for business accounting, as is used in Europe, would put Intuit out of business in two years.
