He begins by quoting the Koran: "to speak the truth as best I can"
Then he says about the Israel-Palestinian issue: "it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people -- Muslims and Christians -- have suffered in pursuit of a homeland. For more than 60 years they've endured the pain of dislocation. Many wait in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza, and neighboring lands for a life of peace and security that they have never been able to lead. They endure the daily humiliations -- large and small -- that come with occupation. So let there be no doubt: The situation for the Palestinian people is intolerable."
This is not "the truth". Palestinian Muslims and Christians can not be lumped together. (1) Palestinian Muslims have driven Arab Christians out of formerly majority Christian cities of Arab Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth in the past two decades. Arab Christians comprise three times as many Israeli Palestinians (120,000) as they do West Bank and Gaza Palestinians (35,000).
He added: "The only resolution is for the aspirations of both sides to be met through two states, where Israelis and Palestinians each live in peace and security."This ignores the simplest historic reality: Neither the Palestinians in the West Bank nor the Gazans will recognize the state of Israel. They never have and never have done anything to take one step towards recognition of Israel in 60 years.
