Not symmetrical

The Israeli Foreign Office has regularly complained about jew-hate television shows in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the Palestinian territories.  Of course the Palestian jew-hate is most commonly on children's programs.

I see a problem with this issue in International Affairs, similar to the Danish cartoon issue. 

We have an asymmetric issue.

Most Arabs and Turks have media and press that are directly under the control of the government.  They assume the rest of the world is the same way.

  So when Israel complains about jew-hate programming, the Arab and Turkish world wonder what the alternative is.

Israel and most democracies assume that most media and the press should not be controlled by the government for malicious purposes. 

Talking across this abyss seems futile.
