The messianic era may have arrived

I listened to a Yom Kippur talk today.  One passage from Ezekiel 37:1-14 that we all know (dry bones, dry bones...gonna get up an walk around, them bones them bones..) makes it clear that the Lord will bring all the Jews to their own home in their own land.

Well that has actually happened as Ezekiel prophesied ...so maybe we are in the messianic age and have been since 1947. (Certainly Israel is a green and luxuriant Garden of Eden while most of its neighbors are barren sand and red rock.)

This is also the age when we can appreciate commerce as more nations are coming to understand how to support commerce with tax reductions, less progression in taxes, less government subsidies of everything, fewer trade barriers, less government, less government regulation etc. 

We (at least at this blog) appreciate commerce. Commerce has produced overflowing crops that create the greatest volume and quality of food ever imagined; has reduced disease, eliminated infirmity, and extended life especially for women to levels of health never imagined; all the while creating freedom, free time, creative arts, hundreds of thousands of kinds of work and personal authenticity unparalleled in history, even for Kings.

Maybe Israel and the rise of commerce are the heralds of the messianic age.

At least it is a combination of my two favorite subjects.
