I really get annoyed to hear about the failing newspaper industry.
As the Zell company that owns the Chicago Tribune and the LA Times goes into bankruptcy the press gets more absurd and hysterical.
There is a daily newspaper that is growing and thriving: the San Francisco Examiner and the Washington DC Examiner. Both are owned by Philip Anschutz, both are free dailies, both are tabloid size, both are heavy on local news and both have a growing ad base.
I don't know how profitable either paper is, but as I see the network expand to LA, Boston and Chicago I will know for certain it is profitable.
I also see the Wall Street Journal growing and USA Today remaining strong and healthy.
People in the press, so called journalists, are obviously self centered boobs when they report on the decline of their industry. Blind to the real forces at work, blind to the archaic management of their old city-rooms. Just plain blind.
