I'm
waiting for the honest management book that starts off: 'management is
wonderful and emotionally rewarding if you have the pay and recognition
of a manager and no employees'.
There can
be no book or course on management. I've taught such courses and
studied the issues in more than a thousand businesses. There is only
one reality: people learn management from working under managers. You
are a good or bad manager depending on whether you ever worked under a
good manager or not.
That is the sad
truth. Live with it. If you want to be a good manager, work for one.
Otherwise, let someone else be the manager.
