I still continually
encounter evidence of Lefty propaganda as a dominant theme in
academia. The latest was a report on campaign contributions to Obama
and McCain. Nine to one for Obama from academics.
That suggests to me that academia continues to have a language requirement for students that is not French, Spanish, Russian, German or Chinese. It is a recent, 19th Century, language often referred to as Marxism but more accurately described as gobblygook.
It was impossible in my days at U.C. Berkeley to get a graduate degree in economics unless you spoke and understood gobblygook. That appears to still be an important requirement for academic advancement.
