I see a long term consequence of the
steady shift of Jews from 12% voting for pro-commerce political
candidates in the 1990's to more than 35% voting that way in the coming
2008 November elections.
Already, Jews under 35 years of age vote 50% for pro-commerce candidates (nearly all of whom are Republicans). As the older Jewish population (think Miami) dies off, the percentage will move rapidly toward a dominant Jewish vote that will be pro-commerce.
This is important and will have a big impact on the intellectual life of America. Jews do (here I agree with many anti-Semites) have an important, disproportionate, influence on academia, law, science, the arts and American intellectual life.
First we got the neo-cons, a majority of whom are Jews, slowly we will get the broader spectrum of other influentials. I think this small but important group of up and coming people will help America to become greater and more vigorous.
