Word for the Left and other ideologies

I'm struggling to find a word to describe the core anti-empiricism of ideologs. Evidence, over decades, sometimes over centuries, doesn't seem to influence ideologs. Shouldn't there be a word to describe the entire category of people who reject empiric evidence?

The most recent series of blogs have been on the subject of Lefty ideologs rejection of empiric evidence. The Left has never believed the evidence about Stalin, communism, Mao, Palestinians or any other Lefty heroes. Other religions and ideologies behave the same way.

One of my heroes, Isaiah Berlin, used the terms hedgehogs and foxes to distinguish single minded people from more open minded people. Isaiah Berlin was a notoriously nice and kind person. I want a stronger term to draw the distinction.
