I have two friends who are the source of two observations.
One friend in Israel speaks fluent Arabic from birth, was a senior intelligence officer, was a negotiator in the Oslo talks, was a leader of the Lefty pacifists. That all changed when he was on the faculty of Hebrew University and walked into the cafeteria the moment a Palestinian blew up 60 students. My friend was behind a concrete pillar and watched his students' brains, arms, innards and other body parts blow past him. He help evacuate the living and left the Left.
My old report from Israel was that Israeli's were fed up with Arabs for good. When I was there last it was 'we'll deal with the Arabs in 200 years, right now we have the wall and the fence.' Now Israelis are saying it is time to 'forget measured response, the idiot Arabs don't understand that and World Public Opinion has always wanted us dead, the time has come to slaughter Arabs when provoked and teach them a real lesson.' There is also a desire to push Gazans by force into Egypt.
The second friend was very close to Hillary awhile back and reports that she circles the wagons, closes her doors and rejects alternate views when under siege. Hillary is on the way to doing this now.
My view on the election is that Obama has only himself to lose the nomination and McCain has only himself to lose the presidency. Meaning, both have won their respective races unless they make a serious blunder.
