Lefty artists often worship the European model of arts supported by
the government. Presumably because artists like themselves would get
government support if they lived in Europe.
Lefty American artists you are doubly wrong.
First,
the American government does support artists through the National
Endowment for the Arts and through the Public Broadcasting
Corporation. You already know that the NEA won't support you because
it has been burned several times for giving money to artists who
deliberately offended the government and Americans can't understand
supporting deliberately offensive people.
But
you forget that PBC gives plenty of money to artists, but those artists
aren't you. The artists are decrepit old Beach Boys and rock
musicians. The movie A Mighty Wind did a great job of parodying the
educational channel's constant support for outmoded popular music. But
the fact is that our government arts funding goes to decrepit old pop
music stars....not to young Lefty artists.
