Yesterday afternoon I went to see the Olafur Eliasson exhibition at the San Francisco MOMA. I went because of a great review by David Littlejohn in the 10/23 Wall Street Journal.
Would you like Eliasson's work? I like powerful, emotionally moving creations that include my whole body and my entire range of perceptions. Only the organ of smell was missing. Many of the pieces were executions of ideas I had dreamed of such as an entire wall that was the reflection of the surface of a body of water with ripples in it.
If you like great art that is fun you will enjoy the room lit in special yellow light that leaves everything and everybody rendered colorless in only black and white with shades of gray in between. Or the two spaces that generate acrophobia. Or the walk-in freezer with a global cooling race car.
Exhibit open thru February.
