The rebuttal to anti-Vietnam protestors was “Love it or Leave it.” The “it” being the U.S.
The phrase didn’t work because the protestors believed they were the majority of America. One doesn’t leave a country that is yours and generally is controlled by your people.
Today the phrase seems to work. It really bothers Lefties to hear “Love it or Leave it.“ War protestors and Lefty Fundamentalists know that America doesn’t support their views. Americans don’t want socialized medicine, higher taxes on the rich or on anybody, Americans hate welfare, love religious freedom and they are not cowardly about being the world’s policeman.
I am proud to be an American and I say it when the occasion arises or when I see that it will distress the person I’m talking to.
Part of the Left’s genuine unhappiness is they know they should leave the country but they are cowards and fear that leaving the country will be a horrid nightmare. Stuck as outsiders here in the U.S. and afraid to risk a change; that can make a person justifiably unhappy.
I just don’t see why Lefties don’t go to Canada or Norway. You can speak English in both countries, find work as readily in both places as you can in the U.S., get free medical care and probably be supported on the dole if work is hard to find. I would go if I were a Lefty. Live the life you want to live!
