Is it rude to ask your host and hostess how they made the dinner and where the specific items came from?
It was bad manners a few decades ago but it isn’t now. Reason: Lefty Fundamentalists need to know the origin of their food. You see, in case you live on another planet, our Lefties can’t eat food from WalMart, major chains, they can’t eat salmon grown on farms, beef and veal that don’t have a chance to get a sun tan and chickens that don’t expose themselves to fellow birds in the sky. The food that they eat and coffee they drink needs certification (as “organic”, dolphin killing free and fair-traded).
I appreciate this attention to eating. Orthodox Jews and Muslims are very careful about every detail of their lives as are Buddhists. A successful spiritual practice requires these kinds of daily restrictions and demands. Lefty Fundamentalism, as I have berated my readers for years, is a religion.
I must admit I go along with the food prohibitions quite comfortably until the hate part of the Lefty religion shows its ugly face (Lefties hate a bunch of people from Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld to Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and a dozen others.)
