There are about five times as many gay men as there are gay women. But there is an adage that whenever two gay women find they like each other they have moved in together within 24 hours.
There are 108,000,000 households in the U.S. Unmarried male partners are roughly 365,000 households and unmarried female partners are roughly 340,000 households. Almost the same.
That seems to support the adage about gay women forming nests very quickly considering there are one-fifth as many of them. (Table 57 pp 52)
