There are four photos that you may find interesting about Tokyo and Japan. The first on the right is a favorite of mine for the past several years.
The building is a library for the blind in Takadanobaba. The exterior façade is hanging stainless steel chains. Using a building as a metaphor (removing the chains from blindness) is something I would like to see more often.
The two photos on the left are about retired people doing public service.
The man in the park is cleaning up…as a volunteer.
The retirees below are handing out fliers for a local charity at the subway stop.
The final photo on the right is some anonymous Japanese person’s idea of humor. An umbrella has been put on a bronze statue of a boy, on a rainy day.
