Occasionally on this blog I suggest that the Lefty Fundamentalist worldview appeals mostly to angry people. (Lefty Fundamentalism is explicated here.)
My underlying assumption and observation is that feelings shape perceptions.
I did a classic test of this thesis when I was working in Marketing Research at the Bank of America in a building in San Francisco with almost no windows.
Over many months I interviewed employees in the building and asked them what the weather was like outside. The responses were overwhelmingly “overcast and drizzling” regardless of the real weather.
Shut in an office with no outside view they created a less desireable world outside.
Unhappy people create a political worldview of misery and disaster.
