Great story in the online S.F. Examiner. The founder of the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic, David Smith, is ranting about a corporate takeover. Under Smith everything went wrong, including a large embezzelement. This is a story you won't want to miss.
I won't draw any lessons from this story. You can read it yourself and the conclusions are obvious.
The unstated issue deals with the future of clinic care which will be based on earnings from direct charges for low cost service and revenue from a pharmacy. See an earlier blog of mine.
