I may not have raised this question on my blog before. Are Arab men overwhelmingly gay?
In 1971 I was in Kabul and spent time with a friend who was head of the Asia Foundation. My friend, who was gay, was headquartered in Afghanistan handling all the Foundation grants in all of Arabia.

I asked my friend how he handled being gay in an Arab society where gay
sex was a capital crime. He said he never had so much sex in his
life. Almost any man he met wanted to have sex. It was always
secret. Many of his lovers had young boy lovers who lived with them.
My friend met many of these boy 
toys and enjoyed them too.
I never doubted what my friend told me, but I have never had a chance to get good verification since then. There are many Google entries on the subject.
Two caveats: (1) many would argue that Afghanis are not Arabs, they certainly don’t speak Arabic and (2) the low reported UN AIDs rates in Arab countries is strong contrary evidence.
