Capers are small dark spheres, larger than unground pepper, commonly put in salads, in sauces on salmon and chicken. The caper is a pickled un-opened bud of the Capparis Spinoza specie. I love them.
What nobody ever told me and can’t be learned from Googling is that eating lots of capers on a salad for a week will give you very bad breath. Yes, capers cause bad breath. Really bad.
My breath had a sweet foul odor, like too much beer, after a week of having salads with capers for breakfast. (My partner told me.) I gave up the capers and the bad breath disappeared. Be warned.
Only on this blog does anyone do something as foolish as eating capers on salad every day for breakfast for a week. And admit it.
