My friend Alex frequently mentions that the Left is one solid ideological block while the right is a big tent with widely scattered individualistic views on a variety of issues.
I don’t question the validity of this observation. It fits my own experience.
However, the visual image is different from
experience because the Left has so many black faces we see in Lefty political
gatherings. The right has Asians,
Latinos and a wide variety of immigrants who aren’t as visually distinct in a
large group.
San Francisco may suffer specifically from Alex’s observation. We have 600,000 adults in this city, about 200,000 vote and 50,000 of them control the election results because they are Lefty ideologs for whom their entire life revolves around their religious politics.
While everyone else in San Francisco is going about their lives and enjoying family and friends, the Left is immersed in angry politics, in a cohesive religious worldview, and making a mess (many would say a farce)of local governance.
