I’ve always told my business clients that customers judge the
managerial skill of a company by the cleanliness and neatness that is
visible.
The online equivalent is whether the website is clean and rationally organized.
Consequently one must conclude that amazon.com has very poor management.
Find a book, click on a author’s name and you get trash.
For more than five years, amazon.com has had the
blue-click-color on the names of all book authors on the page with their
book. When you click on the author’s
name you go to a page that should have all other books by that same
author. Instead amazon.com has a list of all books by all authors of that
same name. Find a book by Tom Smith,
click on his name and you will get 168 books by any author or any co-author
named Tom Smith.
Don’t buy amazon.com. Poor management, five years and the problem is not fixed. They were first in their business and succeeded. The competition was dumb and late. Bezos was mostly luck.
