In Hayes Valley, next to a short shopping street that has doomed itself into fossilized preciousness (zoned for business losers), there is a new park where a freeway used to be. In the park is a sculpture by David Best of Burning Man fame.
The sculpture is made of one inch plywood scrap pieces. The structure will be up until mid-September. It is incongruous and consequently has a light, airy and spontaneous feel. Nice to show visitors to S.F.
