On the left is one of the funniest
cartoons I recall seeing in a long time. (Click on the image to enlarge.) There is something powerful
about a supposed insight that really isn't.
On the right is a wonderful piece of conceptual art on the street in my neighborhood. This is an old model cigarette machine. Look inside the display. Hanging over each cigarette package on display is a tiny traditional symbol that is used in Japanese funerals.
The image on the right below shows the cigarette machine as it stands outside the back of the restaurant. The sign is for the restaurant named Life. The sign supports "your life, slow life, good life."
My only comment, as a person who likes nicotine, is that this is good art and uses a popular conception about smoking to communicate its message. (Correlations of smoking and bad health have not been found in the Japanese population.)
