The photo on the right was taken with a cheap digital camera from my car while driving across the Golden Gate Bridge at the speed limit--45 mph. What happened to create this photo?
Answer: This speed seems to parallel the CCD filling in the image. The line scans on the CCD (image receiver in the camera) must be about the same rate as the 45 mph auto. The top lines are scanned first when the pedestrian's heads were adjacent to the car, and the bottom lines are scanned last when the pedestrian's feet were at the back of the image. Anyway, that's my explanation.
