As a fan of goose liver pate (foie gras), which is to become illegal in restaurants in California soon, I am hoping that we will have speakeasy restaurants springing up.
While we are at it there are a number of pleasures formerly associated with restaurants that are outlawed.
The outlaw list includes horsemeat, cigarettes, cigars and several species of fish and whale.
I don't know what combination of these outlaw foods or amenities would work together and would appeal to a large enough market to generate a speakeasy. Commerce is like water.. it will find a way through almost anything.
I sure hope that some of these pleasures will return to the world in some guise that is available to me.
