For the past century and a half, the Left has argued that an Engels cycle of historic synthesis would bring the triumph of communism. The Left are the angry heirs of Jacobin tyrannical fratricide.
The Engels theory was wrong and killed millions who live under those theoretically produced tyrannies.
If we just think 25 years into the future we can ask the simple question: will our world see more Shanghai's, Singapore's and Bangalore's or will we see more Havanas, Pyongyang's or Caracases?
The answer is pretty obvious. Those people who see more Havanas than Shanghai's are the losers.
They are simply losers to the future.
We who appreciate commerce and are supportive of commerce are the winners of history.
