I couldn't agree more.
In Orlando Figes book about the Russian "revolution" there is a photograph of protestors holding up a sign calling for the end of tipping.
They wanted to be paid a regular wage.
For those of us who are unused to tipping it is obviously degrading, demeaning and embarrassing. What we live with very quickly seems normal and correct.
