Not good sense at City Hall

I said two blogs back that somebody in the San Francisco Mayor's office had shown good sense in dealing with Yelp Day. 

I was wrong...terribly wrong.  Such good sense could never prevail. The idiot in the Mayor's office, Matthew Goudeau, who pulled the plug on Yelp Day didn't do it because of Yelp's bad business reputation. He did it because of his own moral incompetence.

Goudeau pulled Yelp Day because Yelp did the right thing. Gay bigots were writing nasty reviews of businesses they had never visited; businesses owned by people who had given funds to support the anti-gay marriage electoral initiative. Yelp did the sensible business thing and pulled the politically vindictive reviews written by moral reprobates.

Goudeau pulled Yelp Day for a morally disgraceful reason...when Yelp did the right thing.
